Do these results look funny to anyone else? 4 Seagate 320gb 16mb cache in Raid 0+1, 64 stripe size (largest it would allow me)

Pretty sure Raid 5 and 10 require very high end raid controllers to perform well. (About $300.) as they are both very complex and hard to do with software (aka onboard raid controllers)

That doesn't seem all that bad for onboard raid.. but Raid 0 would be much faster but you'd lose the protection of raid 1.

do you have the most up to date intel chipset drivers as well as the matix manager from intel? how busy is the disk light on your case before you run the test?

it doesn't seem that great. here is raid 0+1 using the same onboard controller he has and using 4x drives as well. comparing these I would say something is easily wrong there.
