Exactly.
But one of the damn reasons why the students want an Apple Laptop, is because the Educational System chose to adopt the Apple platform in the 90's. Honestly, the old 60 year old Apple tech guy at my school is a moron. Not only is he an Apple fanboy, he brings up stupid comments like 16GB of RAM is super useful (this is in my multimedia class). Also, the school replaced all 30+ Apple Mac G5 computers with Mac Pro w/ 25"+ screens equipped with Quad Core C2D, 2GB of RAM, HD 2600XT, 750GB HDD, 2 DVD+RW Super Drives, and Mac OSX Leopard... Which comes out to be $4,000+ x 30 = $120,000...
I also forgot to include that all students have laptops in which they bring from home to class all year long... Last year, all the students from Freshmen to Seniors had Apple iBook G3s or G4s. But this year, all the Freshmen got Mac Book Pros and the rest just got new iBook G4s... Complete waste of money...
No wonder the schools in California have "no money"...
The damn school districts these days ask for computers over textbooks! With that kind of money, they could get new textbooks, the students won't have to bring their textbooks back and forth from their home to class.
That's why **** Apple and the School Districts! :swearing:

well in my uni there arent alot of ppl with apples but i always recommend them because of my experience with it and I NEVER recommend dell. I never talk about anything that has not happened to me but from the batch of ppl that got the dell laptop I did the Latitude D series about 60% of them had a burnt hard drive or a failed hard drive in the first 2 months (this is the honors computer science so I know atleast a few of us know how to take care of a laptopand I was one of them -_-) I had two dead pixels in my laptop screen I've never heard of that b4 my experience but it happened...I had my dell for 2 years and I probably used it for MAXIMUM 5 months (one definitive plus if you did end up paying for the 4 year extended to plan then they will cover everything which I had but it was still useless to have the laptop when I couldnt use it)

now to the APPLE story:

my apple laptop i have had for 2 years now and works like a charm!! did not pay extra for anything just about 150 for the extended warranty and it ws well worth it over the summer my battery died and it would not charge I went to the apple store walked in they checked it and within 25mins had a new battery (a year after having the apple) and i was good to go...and then my charger stopped working(this is 4 months after the battery incident) I walked in the apple store with it yet again in about 30 mins walked out w/ a brand new charger and no money out of my pocket. now both of these put together cost more than the 150 I payed in the beggining so it was well worth it (oh and a side note even if you pay for the 4 year plan neither the battery nor the charger is covered by DELL)

These type of stories are which cause ppl to buy apples. I know I have gotten atleast 10 ppl in my family and 5 of my friends to buy an apple for school just by my example.

*EDIT* P.S. I hate when ppl talk about stuff they have never had or tried out for more than 30 mins. you cannot make a true judgment in 30 mins on anything and just because your confused by it does not mean it sucks...it means you have to try just a little harder to use those few brain cells that you have...

I hardly know any one with a Mac, I have only seen about 10-15 people at my college who have one. Come to think of it, usually there are about twice as many linux laptops as Macs.

Well, what ever floats their boat.
At my university its probably closer to 75% of laptop are macs. and half of the computer labs are mac.
