Did I ever say it didn't, no. But that brings it right back to my point, people like the OS.

And please don't bring up gaming again.

Exactly. How many people who just threw out the "Macs are useless" do you think have actually used one beyond 10 min?

That's why I don't care when someone says "It's my opinion, my opinion, my opinion." Because lots of times, *Red's voice* your opinion is stupid, dumbass!

Macs are priced a bit higher, but there are a few things to consider:

1. When you buy a Mac, there is a LOT of software included (and come on, it IS above average quality software).

2. Apple computers' prices are NOT subsidized by adware and crapware like your average pre-built computer is.

Whether or not you like the software is up to you; that's why you have a choice.

lolz.

Yeah, well the stats surely aren't coming from my University. I haven't talked to a single person who's given me any notion towards buying a Mac. I haven't seen any students with Macs in my classes, either.

the reason i liked the apple is because i was able to walk in to the store and not worry about iut being shipped and stuff like that.

First one, bowing bottom of MBP due to massive heat caused by crappy cooling in them. Second one, bowed touch pad that started to peel and got worse. Last chance, returned that overpriced pile of trash, got the gateway I have that has what, 10x the power, modded it with 2 hdds, 2.5ghz penryn, 3 year ADH psp AND STILL saved money vs the macbook pro. hahaha

OSX is a good os, the mac hardware is overpriced garbage that in reality, has just as many flaws as the "Dell" you speak of. You know why? THEY USE THE SAME HARDWARE!!!.........
second of al I am not saying one way is better than the other I was stating my story adn my experience and the experiences of my friends and family with the Dell and Apple laptops. I dont have a problems with dells just more the fact that they dont have a store to just walk into to get what i want and also the fact that I had to go without a laptop for so long waiting for the replacement parts. there higher end stuff lasts forever I know my uncle has had his dell for over 3 years now. BUT it was my experience for example take the Q6600 processor GREAT OCer thats for sure and everything but not everyone has the same experience with it. Some ppl can OC it to 4.0 and some just to 3.6 and some not even to 2.8 its something they have to live with.

well moving on to price I really dont think they are over priced...the iphone and SOME ipods YES VERY overpriced...their laptops are pretty decent. I mean dell with the same exact configuration as the Appl sells the same laptop for about 2k I payed 1500 for the black MB with a case and some extra software not bad if I mayso my self and then they have the $100 off for being a student and then i got a $50 rebate for office because I bought it during summer and for college. coming out to b a total of $1350 oh then yes the 150 for the 2 year warranty with everything so its back up to 1500...I wanna see dell or your "precious" gateway give that much for that price I mean its a VERY competitive price and yes addons are VERY expensive from apple thats why you can "mod" the MB as well I uped my HD storage and my RAM w/o any problems pretty easily actually just take the battery out and 3 screws and you have acces to everything. and it weighs less than most DELLs and Gateways (this checked on the gateway website)

*EDIT*

hows the battery life on that "beast" and most ppl dont buy their laptops for gaming because they dont want to lug around a BRICK in their backpack in college

I love how the others (you know who you are) try to shove windows down our throats, telling us it's the only way, saying, "If you use Apple products, you're either a fanboy and/or stupid" (yes, those exact words were said by a certain someone on this thread).

People like you and I are totally against the message of "our way is the only way," yet we are the ones branded fanboys.

My, what a cruel, cruel world...
