Razer Barracuda - Page 2

I enjoy mine. It sounds great if you equalize it right. I found it to be a bit hollow at first, but a reinstall of the drivers and some tweaking did the trick.

If you refuse to use creative because of the silliness, go with a Xonar or an Auzentech.

I agree. It all comes down to what you hear from the card and how much you like it.

As far as reviews go, the card gets decent ones. Considering it has hardware to process the audio, it defineltly is one of the better cards. The reviews put it up there with the X-Fi series.

Many people find it hard paying over $100 for a card from Razer then they do from Creative. So I think many people choose the X-Fi over it. But if you can find it for considerably less then the X-Fi Gamer and Music card, I say go for it!

By cheap, he means he can get it for a considerable price cut. it retails on newegg for $179.99 ($149.99 after instant rebate), so it isnt cheap.

I'm saying, just because he's getting it for much cheaper, doesn't make it any less bad.

Still not worth it. An X-Fi XtremeMusic carries an absurd amount more value than that Razer. Heck, grab a Chaintech AV-710 if you can find it.

I'd get a sennheiser for that price. IMO, 5.1 on headphones is overrated and the quaility won't compare to a sennheiser in 2 channel stereo. Whatever you get remember to run the headphone for 24hours at medium volume with a looping album to break them in.
