DDR2 Timing settings in BIOS

Thread Starter
Hi,

I just put together a system with 4Gigs of DDR2 RAM. The RAM modules are from Transcend 667Mhz. I've used two 2GB modules on my ASUS M2N-MX SE mobo. When i look into the BIOS info I can see that the RAM modules are clocked at 333MHz instead of 667MHz. Is this correct or do i need to manually adjust the timing parameters for 667MHz. If so, could anyone give me the proper timings for 667MHz DDR2?

I've another problem as well.. The BIOS shows 4Gigs but Windows only shows 2.87Gigs (3.4g - 512MB for Video card). How do i set this write and make Windows show and use all of the 4Gigs of RAM?

Thx in Advance.

DDR2 is calculated by taking the operating frequency of 333MHz x 2 = 666 (DDR is Double Data Rate)

Since you dont have a 64 bit OS, you will not be able to use all your ram. But you should be able to use more then what is showing. See if there is a "memory remapping" feature you can enable in bios (on my ASUS board, it it in the chipset menu).

This total includes video card ram, i.e., you have a 512 MB so Windows will only recognize 3.5Gb of 4Gb installed ram.
