Using a refresh rate that's not supported by my TV?

Thread Starter
In call of duty 4 options It is letting me choose 72 Hz with 1280x720 res. In the nVidia options I can choose a max of 60 Hz under this same resolution. Will I damage my TV if I use 72 Hz while playing COD4 ?
