WWII Bomber Flight Sim - Page 2

man I miss these days.

IL2 I can't say I care too much for though as the AI isn't always the greatest. at some times it is great but there are others the ai gets the idea that flying straight at level is the best plan of attack.

IMHO IL2 (all of the series) is the best (WWII) flight/combat sim out there as of now. I think the AI is about normal for a combat sim, try turning up the difficulty/experience level and see how tough the enemy is. The friendly AI isn't too bad, but normally they only care about themselves (don't blame them).

If you're looking for strictly bomber only WWII sim, then try to find B-17 Flying Fortress. It actually lets you go from station to station and try all the positions out... ie. Belly Gunner, Waist Gunners, Bomber, Navigator, etc. You will probably be able to buy it for very cheap because I remember it wasn't very popular and it came out awhile ago... maybe four years or more.

EDIT:B-17 Flying Fortress stuff

Buy IL2 Forgotten Battles + Aces expansion pack + Pacific fighters = Best FS evar!!!!

And if you buy those 3 there must be at least 100+ planes then the new updates include even more, and there's always thousands of things to shoot at

Another vote for IL2, you can get both releases for not a lot of money, the campaigns are bit tedious - I got bored after flying from a carrier for an hour, to drop one bomb (which missed) then fly back for another hour. Realistic but boring.
Instant action is good fun though.

I loved CYAC! (Chuck Yeager's Air Combat)

Anyone remember "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe"? Darn...game requirements "Hard Disk Required"!! I loved that game.

Check out this vid of game play on YouTube:

rofl, I wish, as you can see it only uses 1% of one core hehehe and that's even under emulation.
