Silverstone Strider 750W for $89.00 at my Local Fry's

Hello,

I'm not posting this at the online deals section because I don't know if it qualifies or not.

Anyways, I went to my local Fry's, here in El Segundo, CA, during lunch to get the 1TB Maxtor drive that was on sale for $200. As always, I check the aisles to see what other things that I really don't need but I should buy.

Came across the Silverstone Strider 750W PSU's for $89.99. They had 3 of them. 2 of them had the opened box/return sticker on it. The other didn't have the sticker, but the box looked pretty beat up. Normally, the open boxes are nominally cheaper than the new items. However, they were all marked as $89.99. Made me want to believe, they were phasing out the units at Fry's.

Made calls to several other Fry's nearby, but they seemed to be all out. This is the same power supply the Newegg current has for $135 after a $15 MIR.

the STF750 is not a very good one. it is a good price, but i would opt for the other 750 watt psu's from Silverstone, namely the OP750 and the DA750

I would opt for the OP750 or the DA750 if they were $89.99 too.

I agree the OP and the DA are better models, but the STF750 isn't bad for $90. I was thinking about getting the DA when Microcenter had it on sale for about $150. But I went with the PCP&P because the DA only had 1 8 pin for PCI-E.

Interesting avatar by the way. Whenever I visit my mother-in-law in North Carolina, I make sure I always hit Bojangle's at least once. Love their chicken biscuit sandwich and sweet tea.
