SLi x16/x16????

Thread Starter
Does anyone know if there is a board out there that is Intel based that supports full x16/x16 when the PCI Express slots are enabled? Years ago they had the Asus A8N32-SLi Deluxe but that isn't manufactured anymore, let alone it's AMD....Is there on out there?

If not, is that more or less of a big deal if you just get 2 x PCI-E2.0 Slots running at 8x/8x?

I don't think Intel does SLI...something about them having a tiff with Nvidia about Intel's CSI tech. Or their chipsets are buggy. I don't remember the details.

Could be wrong...probably am.

What components will overwhelm a PCI E x8 port ?

Have to ask.... what were you smoking when you bought this... http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...me=GA-P31-DS3L

Memory is the most important aspect for satisfaction.
Granted it might amuse you to feed your dog meth-
and send him down the road to fetch data from the neighbors
mailbox, shortining his attention span and life, but a dog that
just goes to the door and brings your paper wins every time.

Paged out memory sucks. Vista and big Video card require lots.
Bus is not your bottle neck. Forceing the hard drive to emulate
memory is.

Cheers:

Besides the Skulltrail, no Intel board has SLi, only crossfire. You need an NVIDIA board for SLi (680, 780i...)

guys i think he justs wants to go SLI with his Q6600, in which case any 680i 780i or 790i board will do as they run 16x/16x but there is no really advantage as most cards dont overwhelm 8x
