41C idle on you NB chipset I think is your problem under load it must skyrocket.
If it was me I would upgrade the NB chipset and BSEL it to default to nicer straps.
800 straps suck imho.
The chipset temp hardly changes at all when only the cpu is being loaded. It's when you run a blend test that the NB will get stressed as well and NB temps will rise.

Keep in mind ambient room temps can greatly effect CPU temps also. I try to keep my room at about 75Â°F or lower if I can help it. As others have stated I would also try to reseat the HSF (cpu cooler) with some good paste as well. As far as the speeds you are getting 3.0GHz may be the max stable you can get with that chip (which is not bad at all). Isn't the stock speed 1.8 or 2.0GHz?
