well, i filled in my system specs. right now im running it at 9x333 again and it seems fine. idle temps are 24-28c. tuniq stock fan on high. does that seem too hot? on load it gets about 55c measured with coretemp and smartguardian. when i order a 2nd hard drive monday im going to order some better thermal paste and reseat this thing with new paste. kind of floating off topic here but what fan would you all recommend to replace the one that came with the tuniq it is quite loud.

41C idle on you NB chipset I think is your problem under load it must skyrocket.
If it was me I would upgrade the NB chipset and BSEL it to default to nicer straps.
800 straps suck imho.
The chipset temp hardly changes at all when only the cpu is being loaded. It's when you run a blend test that the NB will get stressed as well and NB temps will rise.

Keep in mind ambient room temps can greatly effect CPU temps also. I try to keep my room at about 75°F or lower if I can help it. As others have stated I would also try to reseat the HSF (cpu cooler) with some good paste as well. As far as the speeds you are getting 3.0GHz may be the max stable you can get with that chip (which is not bad at all). Isn't the stock speed 1.8 or 2.0GHz?

just a update for you all. running at 3150MHz 350x9 1.37v vcore, nb at 1.32v. running prime stable for a hour so far. gonna keep it going tho. temps ranging from 58-63c on load running small ffts priority 9. tuniq fan set to high. all my ram settings are set to auto. would you all recommend adjusting those once this finishes 8 hours prime or so? since its only running at 1:1 350mhz i should prob adjust to cas 4 timings? ram is rated 5-5-5-15 2t ddr2 1000 @ 2 - 2.1v im running it at 1.84v currently

I would suggest a minimum of 12 hrs for Orthos. Also were you able to reseat your Tuniq? I ask because those load temps seem high for that voltage. I'm running 1.42 volts to my CPU and using an AC Freezer 7 Pro. My highest load temps are ~60°C and that is only if my room is exceptionally warm.

update: so i reseated my tuniq. cleaned base and proc with some alcohol and applied thin line of AS5 down middle of proc. load temps are now 50-54c. when before it was 59-64c. still not sure i seated the tuniq right... this thing is a pain really. might just sell it off and grab a TRUE.

edit: 2 screws got tight where i couldnt anymore, one was still able to turn some and another was still turning but i could look under and see the screw passing thru the stand off thing and prob would have touched the case so i backed it off some and put mobo back in case.

Basically if the board starts to flex you've overdone it. Just make sure to tighten down in an X pattern (upper left, lower right, etc) in even increments until you have a secure fit.

Check out the DFI link in my sig for some nice information on overclocking on your T2RS. As for the wrong multi being shown in Orthos, i get the same problem on my T2RS when I OC my Q6600. I never got an answer in the thread I posted asking about that same problem. Obviously it doesn't affect anything just just for screenies. Good luck on the OC!

For the issue with the wrong multi try setting your power options to the "performance" in windows (if you haven't already). That should fix it.
