I wonder how 3x 9800GTXs compare to 2x 9800GX2s and 2x 3870X2s. The 3870X2s and 9800GTXs would cost similar, so if they actually may be better price/performance than 2x 9800GX2s!

Wish my 9800gtx in Aus was 330

500 dollars for the EVGA one sigh

Im So Confused on what to Upgrade too

the 9800gtx is such a minimal upgrade over the 8800gts 512.

If you buy this over a 8800GTS (G92) you are a fool.

So I was going to wait until the release date (today) to read the reviews and decide between an 8800 gts 512 or 9800gtx.
Problem is now that I read these reviews there's no reason for me to go with the 9800gtx and spend the extra $70 on it, BUT Newegg doesn't have the evga gts 512 with crysis anymore so it's like what the hack. Damned if you do damned if you don't right.

My question now would be should I go with a BFG 512 with 100day step-up program or EVGA with 90 day step-up?

Also can you only step-up once? ex. If I get a GTS now and step-up to 9800gtx after some drivers come out will I then be able to step-up to G200 when it gets released? If not maybe I should just get the 9800gtx so that I can at least go to G200 if it comes out in 3mo.

Depends, if you are dead set on going with eVGA (which I would be) the price difference is $20.

20 bucks more for more performance, I would probably bite.

And you can't say it is crazy unless you count 3/4 of the things people do on this board crazy (Q6600 B3 upgrade to G0 anyone?)

Wow that's a load of CRAP.

The GTS was selling (ON NEWEGG) for less than 240$ in most situations (WITHOUT REBATE).

Bastards, the lot of them. This is where they are getting you. Making you think you're only spending 20$. In actuallity, more like 80-90$. Plus that's an OC version buddy, try this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130337 (still isn't THAT much cheaper, regardless, it was 240$ YESTERDAY.)

I hate big corperations.

Holy price gouge. To be honest if someone is thinking about buying the 9800GTX, than they should just buy the HD3870X2 instead for only $70 more or just buy the G92 8800GTS for $100 less since its the exact same card as the 9800GTX without the factory overclock.

Woohoo, who cares if its only an overclocked 8800gts? It costs about the same as an overclocked 8800gts!
