If AMD sell the Tri Core @ Dual Core prices, this is a major win over Intel - AMD are really using their iniative on this one, their quad cores arent the best so they are taking a similar architecture that they can cheaply produce to beat the enemy - Awsome

I hope AMD does well with this, i'd certainly buy one if it was at the right price and had some OC'in potential
ditto,
my next build may be an AMD, i dont want an intel monopoly

What the hell kind of stupid ass comment is that? Crysis is EVERYTHING bottlenecked.

CPU/RAM/GPU

GPU is probably the least bottlenecked piece of equipment you have to worry about.

If you buy a processor for the sole purpose of taking profit away from the competitor then thats your loss...

I'm not kidding when I say that only AMD would have the amount of sheer retardation to release a Tri-Core.

And for those of you who don't know math, the performance for multithreaded applications is in multiple's of 2.

You're never going to see a 5-core CPU geniuses.

Your joking right.......
Crysis is all about GPU unless you are playing at low settings at a low resolution which defeats the purpose of playing Crysis in the first place.

Im not saying im going to buy the tricore, i personally think its kind of dumb.
But in essence its genius, they will make money off this, and it probably cost them peanuts...

What i mean was, that my next build will most likely incorporate an AMD... maybe its dumb, but id liek to try it out.
Also the fact that ive never owned an AMD cpu/rig before soo it would be interesting

.
O really ?!

Intel dual core already beat Phenom quad core even in some multi-threaded applications. Check this review

Both photoshop and DivX utilize 4 cores, yet phenom performs worse than E8200.

And remember this is E8200

So, there is no doubt that Intel dual core processors such as E8400 are going to have much better performance than those tri-cores from AMD.

Why? Because your a fan boy and your worried your company is gonna get served by the opposition?

Yes, but only by a little

The E8400 is the second revision of the Core 2 architecture, infact isnt it the 3rd?

This is the first ever line of Tri-Core, once they go through the revisions like the Core 2 have, they'll be a lot better

Compare the tri-Cores to the E4500, which is on a similar scale - then make your choice

Im sure the Tri-Core will go through changes just like the C2D have to produce the E8400
