9800GX2 "SLI" Question

Thread Starter
Do you have to enable SLI when you have just one GX2 or does it automatically configure it that way. and if you do have to enable it, can you have dual monitor support with SLI enabled? Unlike other SLI cards, such as the GT and what not, that wont enable dual screens with sli enabled. Thanks

It's not SLI with just one from what I know. It's just two cards in one. Meaning it will use the 2nd core if it can.

It's SLI. No dual screen with SLI enabled. With SLI disabled you can have 3 screens displayed: one with HDMI, two with DVI.

Have a look at this thread.

6. Can I use the CrossFire platform to drive multiple displays?

A. Yes, the CrossFire platform will work with ATI SurroundViewâ„¢ multi-monitor technology to enable up to 5 separate displays when not running in CrossFire mode.

What I posted means no, you can't use cross fire with multi monitors.

Yes, the CrossFire platform will work with ATI SurroundView™ multi-monitor technology to enable up to 5 separate displays when not running in CrossFire mode.
