Step-up from 8800GT... dilemma...

Thread Starter
What do I do? The GX2 is completely out of the question as I am not spending that much money.

My step-up ends May 19th, and I don't think there is going to be another card released before then, and the 9800GTX after seeing some reviews, really is just an OC'd GTS G92...

So what do I do? 8800GTX? 9800GTX? Say f-it cuz none of them are even worth the step up cost?

Thanks for any input.

Depends on how much you paid for your 8800 GT. the 9800GTX would be a good step-up if it will not cost you more than $50 bucks. Otherwise I would keep the 8800 GT...

at the resolution you play at the only upgrade i would even think about would be possibly a 9800gtx, or even just an 8800gts 512.

sli or gx2 would be a waste at such a small res.

Ewww... I say keep the 8800 GT. Not worth $100 more in my opinion.

Yea, it sucks the 9800GTX wasn't a bigger performer at that price point..
I love my GT as is eats games alive, minus Crysis /cry

And Criminal, is that Dr.House from House portrayed as Gordan Freeman in your avatar? If so, LOL

thanks for posting this thread, you made me check my step up and guess what: 9800gtx's are available now!

I would go with an 8800GT5 for that price (meaning gts512 (im trying to get that name popular)). The 9800GTX isn't really worth the $100...

The cost difference for me isn't so bad, so I just sent a request for a 9800GTX
