If you look at it from the source. It says these drivers support all 8 and 9 series cards including these newely released ones:

♦GeForce 9800 GX2
♦GeForce 9800 GTX
♦GeForce 9600 GT
♦GeForce 8300
♦GeForce 8200
♦GeForce 8100/NVIDIA nForce 720a
♦NVIDIA nForce 730a

I have an 8800gtx and these drivers work great.

Theres a driver file you can edit so it should work. I cant remember what it is tho. I think its to do with NV4_DISP.INF One of thease lines in the config

I think that would be the line i have to edit. It's a G80, and the code for a 8800gts 320mb is "10DE - 0193"

So, where do i find this file, and how do i edit it if I can't install in the first place?

Plus, is there actually any big differences between the beta and the WHQL?
I compared the file versions of the beta and the new WHQL, and there is no difference! Seems as though the drivers are the same but with a WHQL stamp.

If anyone's interested, I repackaged the WHQL drivers to include the cards supported in the beta. grab it here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mmzkxhyymxm

In the file NV4_DISP.INF. Just edit it with notepad or wordpad. For me the file is in C:\
Vidia Forceware\\XTreme-G 174.74 XP 32bit along with the installer.

They work just fine on my 8800 gts,i installed them yesterday but i don´t see any difference.
And i don´t think that nvidia doesn´t want us to know that they work with the 8 series because in nvidia´s webpage if you look for drivers for the 8 series these drivers will be there.
But there is no real difference for my system at least i haven´t seen it yet.

Same thing here the WHQL won't install on my 8800GTS 320MB, gives the same message.

Where exactly do you see that? I looked through the release notes and doesn't say what you claim it does. Are you reading the 174.74 BETA documentation (and not the WHQL)?

If it supports all 8 series, then when I select my GPU from the dropdown list, why does it recommend the 169.21?

These drivers don't work for mine either, but I have the Beta version, which seems to work very well for my cards.
