Any tips would be great

Thread Starter
Hi all,

ok just after some tips really, got my Q6600 running at 3.01ghz happily all day every day on stock cooling

Im going to be replacing the stock cooler asap, which is the first thing i wanted a tip on, what would everyone recommend? im on a tight budget.

next tip i would be after is i had a lot of problems getting to 3ghz with my system, even though it seems all fine, it kept falling over and wouldn't get past post. finally tracked it down to the ram being the problem.

Running OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-5400C5 Dual Channel Vista Upgrade Gold Series DDR2.

so any tips as i think it should go quite a bit higher.

Look forward to hearing all the advice

If you are on a tight budget and cannot afford a Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 i would say get the Tuniq Tower but really you should choose one of these two CPU coolers for your quad; normally you should go as high as 3.6Ghz on these two coolers on air.
With regards to your RAM try to keep it at 667Mhz or when you go above that relax your timings on the RAM.
