What to choose for (evga) step up from 9600GT to? - Page 2

You are an overclocker. I suggest the 8800GTS 512mb. Why?

More texture units on the GTS, slightly lower clockspeeds. Can't do anything about GTX texture units, but you can fix GTS speeds.

I vote for the 8800GTS G92, because your mobo dosen't support tri-sli, and the GTX is basically a sped up G92 8800 GTS with tri sli, so the gts is your best option, I personally am going with three 9800 GTX cards, as my board supports tri SLi

For $20 LESS (assuming that's how the step-up program prices it for you), I'd say the 9800GTX is a no-brainer...but if it were reversed ($20 MORE), I'd have to think twice about it. That's about how much more the 9800GTX looks to be WORTH vs the GTS, at present, anyway. So, if it does turn out to be MORE, I'd wait until we see some OC's on the 9800 if it were me.
