Happy with its XML win, Microsoft confirmed at CTIA 2008 that it is planning to release a browser that will offer a full web experience on handhelds. With smartphone web use and market penetration on the rise, Microsoft will have to catch up on the likes of Apple and provide a browser that will enable the viewing of sites to their fullest.

The iPhone Safari-competing Internet Explorer Mobile is expected to become available to phone manufacturers in Q3 and make it to retail before 2009 comes knocking
