You brought this whole argument on yourself Stargate with your initial comments, so you have no one to blame but yourself for any flaming still going on in this thread.

Very well thought out and well written point. Rep+
Did I complain about flaming? No, so can it. There are only baseless comments like your last one. You clearly have no idea what's going on if you think that was a good point, especially if you do the math.

Why do all discussions on OCN distill down to discussions about economics and those who only see it for what they want to see it.

Stargate, your initial post is what has dragged this topic to the bias being witnessed. You fail to recognize that inflation plays a bigger role than you want to engage, you fail to recognize that global currency exchanges also play a role. I'm not really sure you understand exactly how much the lull in the US economy makes imports (which almost all of these blu-ray players are) much more expensive. You fail to recognize that MSRP hasn't changed and that this has nothing to do with the Blu-Ray consortium or Sony. You fail to recognize that several people have indicated that on the local box store level, the prices haven't changed, yet internet resellers are indicating a change. You are throwing all of your malice behind a flawed analysis of price structure because you WANT to propagate your own conclusion. Yes the prices went up for the online retailers listed by PriceGrabber, but no, your conclusion that it is because Sony or the Blu-Ray Consortium is manipulating prices does not jive.

None of that matters, only that Sony sucks.

But another nicely phrased reply.

You are such a hypocrite! You are doing exactly what you claim I am doing, except that I actually showed you how what you said wouldn't make a difference on multiple occassions whereas you simply attempt to pull an Inquirer. You can use fancy economic terms but you have yet to form them into a point.

You also are apparently too thick-headed to realize - despite the fact that I've said so several times - I merely said companies were being greedy. I never implicated Sony or any company in particular. Whether it be retailers or whatever that are causing the increase in prices, they are there and the end user pays for it. If you want to continue to make up crap or put things on me that other people said then it only serves to prove that you have no idea what the hell you're talking about.

I have neglected to actually call you a fanboy, but your complete lack of logic and anything even remotely resembling an argument with validity aren't helping your case. You aren't the only one, either. You're like a bunch of cavemen: one of you grunts and the others start bobbing their wooden clubs in the air like you actually said something that has any affect on the subject at hand.
