Newegg's Packaging = Fail - Page 3

Newegg always uses gallons of peanuts when I buy from them. Amazon on the other just throws the item in a box and ships it with nothing.

I forgot to mention, I got paid $150 for writing a review for newegg. They are simply awesome.

I bought a hard drive, it was OEM. It was wrapped in so much bubble wrap and tape, it was hard to cut through...in the end the hard drive was DOA. D: I'll buy an item from newegg even if I saw it somewhere for cheaper just because of their service. <3 Newegg.

i've ordered my Prelude and my 8800GT from Newegg, perfect packaging
post #24 of 31
The packaging did its job...and your complaining? =S

The bubble wrap is designed to pop @ a certain force to cushion the blow and protect the contents inside

If it didnt pop, the majority of the force would be passed on to the contents inside

So i think your a bit of a fool for strongly complaning it was burst, but i understand your concern that it was handled a little roughly

In all my years of ordering from the egg I've only had one bad packaging experience. I had boght new components and when I got the box it was only 1/2 full of peanuts, leaving the parts of bang around on the inside. Thankfully everything was ok but I wasn't very happy.

Pretty much every con has listed shipping quality = bad
working for ups, i totally understand packaging. bubble wrap is mainly to keep things from rubbing together, and isn't meant for protection. Unless it is able to shatter. peanuts are meant for almost all the protection.

Are you saying you wouldn't complain if you got a sensitive piece of hardware where the only cushioning on it was pretty much all popped? That makes me a fool for complaining about an item I purchased?

Newegg is the best. Everything i have recieved from them haev run great. They are top notch!
I can second this. Most of the time theres no problems but with bigger packages more problems. Like the last 2 towers i got, there box had huge holes in them. Maybe UPS? I used the almost always free 3 day Sure shipping so no quality is for sure. Mostly It's ok, about 80/20 on good/bad packaging condition, No clue if it was Newegg or UPS... Only would have cared if the product was damaged.
I received 10 items from NewEgg, and the packaging was perfect every single time. Each item was shipped UPS (a couple of the shipments had 2-3 things in it). I also ordered one OEM hdd, and one OEM dvd writer. I ordered them separately, and they both arrived with perfect packing.

My only complaints have nothing to do with NewEgg. It was my timing: the air was extremely dry, and so I had to use a spray bottle to mist water on the packing peanuts to keep them from sticking to everything. I ended up misting everything to kill all of the static. I wasn't worried about getting my stuff wet because it was wrapped so well in bubble wrap.

But I believe all of my stuff was packed by employees who care about the customer who's going to be opening it. Every once in a while, when you're doing business with companies, you're going to be served by an employee who doesn't care one iota about the company's customers, and all they want is their paycheck. So, you get horrible service, and unfortunately, you end up thinking the whole company is the same way.

I should know: I've worked next to many people who should never have been hired in the first place. But these idiots lie to get hired, and then they ruin the company's reputation for any customers they serve.

Don't let this one experience get you down. You know that you're better than that.
