ATi x1950 would be just fine for couple of years from now. You can upgrade later to Radeon HD 3870.
Great build, but let's do a little tweaking to save $ and make room for the case he now requires.

Replace the earthwatts 430W for $70 on the egg for the earthwatts 500W from buy.com for $54 shipped!

Get that bloodiron here in the OCN marketplace for an unbelievable price of $95 shipped! Jump on this offer NOW!

For $5 more you can get the CAS4 G.Skill.

Go to Microcenter or Fry's (whichever you have near you) and pick up the Q6600 Retail for $200 or less. Hurry, the one here only had 3 left when my friend went yesterday.

Keep the Cooler SZayat picked out.

Get the CM Centurion 534 for $50. It's like the Centurion 5, but instead of an 80mm fan in the front it has a 120mm fan on the side.

In summary:

$200 - Q6600 Retail from Microcenter or Fry's (in store only)
$95 - P35 BloodIron (shipped, lightly used)
$50 - 2x1GB G.Skill DDR2 800 CAS4
$54 - Antec earthwatts 500W (shipped)
$25 - Xigmatek 90mm cooler
$50 - CM Centurion 534
$26 - Newegg S&H (to my 20037 zipcode anyway)
----
$500 Total, phew just made it! (actually my shipping had a few nickels and dimes plus that 26... fail )

If you don't mind MIR, get the Crucial Ballistix for $29 after $25 MIR.

By the way, do you need a DVD drive or hard drive? You said you're reusing the 1950 but didn't mention those components. Keep in mind modern motherboards only have one IDE port, so your hard drive AND your DVD drive can't BOTH be IDE, but one can be.
