Shacknews is reporting on the newly released statistics from the NPD group that claim a whopping 72% of the U.S. population played video games in 2007. According to the same report, a full 40% participated in online gaming. I’m not sure how they counted everyone in the U.S. but the numbers seem bit high, don’t they?
According to the firm, 40% of United States residents played an online game in 2007, with that figure expected to rise 2% in 2008. A whopping 90% of those who played online in 2007 reported using a PC to do so, with NPD describing the PC as "the driving force in online gaming."
