Need help overclocking!

Thread Starter
Okay, I've been overclocking my c2d 6320 from 1.8 ghz to 2.4 ghz on a Gigabyte P35-DS3L mobo. I set the fsb to 346 and my multiplier to 7x. It's been working fine, until recently. I don't know for how long exactly, but I just realized that my score in vista was a 5.0 again, when it should be 5.3 oc'ed. I checked with CPU-z and it says its back to default clocks. I checked in the bios cause I thought maybe it just got reset, but the bios says its still overclocking to 2.4 ghz with a faster fsb and everything. I cant figure out how to get it to overclock again, can anyone help?

lol, i just checked cpuz, it doesn't show your o/c speed, just your stock speed. look at coretemp that has your current frequency!

says the same thing. cpu-z does show it, thats what I've always used and it used to report my 346 fsb and 2.4 ghz, and it shows memory timings which were faster than what it says right now, but I cant remember what it is when its oc'ed...anyways, its not that program, its still something else

sorry, I have to go, but I'll be back on in a few hours to check your replies

yeah, your right, it does show it, i just wasn't looking at the whole program. thats what happens when you try to mulitask.lol

edit: ok i just checked on the gigabyte p35-ds3l thread.http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...3l-thread.html

on the first page it says this:
Help! My BIOS allows me to change settings but they don't stick once I've gotten to the operating system!

Unfortunately this is a frequent problem that seems to occur for several different reasons. The most reliable fix is to remove the CMOS battery as shown above after restoring the default settings in the BIOS. Some have also found that USB storage devices cause problems with booting, so try removing any USB storage devices attached.
