Advice sought

Thread Starter
Heys guys, just looking for some advice on what I should do to improve the performance of my new rig when it arrives. I don't have big bucks to throw at it; my budget is somewhere around NZ$150-200 atm (no idea how that equates to US$ sorry), having just bought this; http://www.pp.co.nz/products.php?pp_id=COM00165
I was wondering what you guys thought would be best, just buying new RAM, an OC or what? I'm new to OCing so don't really want to go down the route of a massive OC.

All advice/insults/comments welcome.

Thanks guys

your biggest performance gain for gaming will come from overclocking your gpu. From the looks of it you may have got a prebuilt that allows cpu overclocking but that will only help in folding, encoding, etc. If you are a multitasker, i would get another 2Gb of ram.

get an after market CPU cooler maybe the zalam 9700 or something, and if you check the dimensions on your case, you might even be able to fit the Tuniq Tower into it. But the cooler is important and can really help you get your game on and not have many freeze ups, and it'll allow you to overclock better, if you even can on that board.

Thanks guys! Hmm yeah I was considering getting a second 8800, but more RAM seems to be the cost effective option at the moment.
