Since my phenom seems to be performing ****e. And I'm losing a lot of performance for various reasons, one of them being running a phenom on a non-phenom ready motherboard via a BIOS update. I'm just sick of it all and want an intel.

A really good Intel.

And just about the best Intel RIGHT NOW is the Q6600, or the E8400/E8500 if you don't need a Quad.

Or wait for Nehalem.

I was under the impression the best intel was about a grand (in AUD anyway)

Forget overclocking for a moment

Lol mate..

As other People have said ..

Q6600 is a great CPU (Quad)

E8400 Is probably the best dual core atm.

And if u have 1000+ to spend you can buy the QX9650

Where in Aus do U live .

I should be able to find you cheapest price on whatever cpu you want

Here is a E8400 for 239

These Australian's are crazy (Sorry couldn't help it!) - If I was joo I would just buy the most expensive one... that must be the fastest right?

Well, he did say he has a budget of around $600...

Anyways, you really shouldnt spend $1000+ on a processor, just buy a q6600 and OC it and buy another 3870x2. And you can even make a kickass party for the rest of the money

In AUD that will cost a lot more, since I also need to buy a new motherboard. I just want a very good CPU and a very good motherboard. After that I'm thinking of getting a single 3870 and crossfire-ing it with my X2.
