This is old, needs to be updated.
I'm going to finish the RAM upgrade, but before I do:
Will it hinder my PC to have 4x1GB vs 2x2GB? 4x1GB is way cheaper and easier.

Also, by looking at reviews, it looks like the CPU should be a Phenom 9600, and the GPU should be a 9800GT. My budget for the GPU and CPU is $200. Any opinions/suggestions?

Whats the porous of this build gaming OC'ing or both?

Edit: the reason i ask is because some of the stuff that you have suggested is not know OC'ers but if this is just a budget build then its a little different...

Gaming, then overclockability.
I want the best bang for the buck, I'm not in it to set a record, I want want I can have the best performance with. If I can OC a certain CPU to outdo a certain CPU overclocked, and it's a better deal, I want it. Same with the GPUs. I'm an overclocker, and a gamer.

UPDATE:

I got the PSU in today. Pictures: http://img5.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=photo0052y.jpg

I am currently playing with my Sempron a bit... so far I hit 2.56GHz. I'm running OCCT now at 1.296v (less than stock) and RAM throttled down. I might play with the RAM later. Picture Proof (I won't post verified CPU-Z screens until I hit a stable OC.) : http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/4696/45025633.jpg

If it where me i would look into the phenom II 720/550 either one of those would be great chips and a lot of people are getting those 550 unlocked so really there getting a 955 for a 100$ I'm almost tempted to get one my self...

Edit: I guess i should of looked in the OP a little better your mobo that you have wont be able to unlock any cores but still those would be great chips regardless..

Okay know with that said i would still look in to getting 2x2gb as its less stress on your CPU and will allow better OC's from both ram and CPU..And plus later down the road if you decide that you need more ram you can just throw in another 2x2gb and have 8gb so its a win win with a Little more money out of packet now...

Edit: Woot! Woot! 700th post.....

Edited OP, I'll do some shopping around tomorrow. In the mean time, any ideas? I need this PC to be silent, and BLACK. Glossy if possible.
