I don't know why I'm not seeing the display adapter in the control panel. Everest finds it, but I am unable to install the driver. Weird.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to this as I've never had the desire to mess with drivers before, so please be kind I've got the Asus m50sn with the 9500m gs and am trying to install the 174.74 driver you've recommended since the default one keeps crashing and isn't performing consistently. I'm doing my best to follow the directions elsewhere on this site, and something is not syncing up. I've extracted 174.74 file to my desktop and when I go to copy the INF file into that folder it does so without the "replace" message as the directions post indicates there will be. Is this normal or have I screwed up somewhere? Thanks in advance!

No mate, you want to replace it. When it asks that click move and replace. Make sure that you uninstall your old drivers, restart, run Driver Cleaner in safe mode, restart, and install new drivers. Well, those are the steps I always take

that's the thing, when I go to move the inf file into the extracted folder it moves it without that "do you want replace this file" type message coming up as if that file does not currently exists in that folder or is named differently than whatever the inf file is when you download it.

Thanks.

huh, it should work like that then. Try to install and get back to me.

I tried it out and it seems to have worked just fine. At least the driver no longer crashes when playing FEAR. Thanks for your help.

Now, what about overclocking...?

I have the exact same problem as you mantis.
I'm trying to get windows xp 64 running on my asus g1sn.
The device doesn't seem to be detected properly in device manager.
None of the forceware drivers seem to be able to detect the card.
There doesn't seem to be a problem in the world running the card from Vista 64.

Has anybody been able to install GeForce 9500M GS driver for Windows XP on their Asus G1SN??
