Well, I finished fixing up my vista install, and I used the dot method on my CPU. I put the cooler right back on, and booted up. Idle temperatures are as follows:
Core 0- 26C
Core 1- 30C
Core 2- 26C
Core 3- 27C
This is a MAJOR improvement on my idle temps, which were about 35-36C before. Opening up a prime95 test with 4 threads and Small FFTs, I get the following LOAD temperatures.
Core 0- 38C
Core 1- 39C
Core 2- 37C
Core 3- 37C
Previously, my load temperature was 54C on the first 2 cores, and lower on the other two, by 3-4C.
I also tightened down the Fuzion pro mount as far as I could, which was when I believe the tips of the screws touched the motherboard plate. They all did so within 1/4 turn, so I am inclined to believe it was done evenly.
Using AS5 dropped my idle temperatures by about 8C, and my load temperatures by about 15C. I am very impressed
On the picture, please add 15C to the speedfan temps.
