thanks! but don't even wanna wait for beta testeing, lol, lets see if they are worth reproducing. I might be interested in doing a little fabrication to order. If so probably able to work something reasonable out, ygpm.

Any thought about using a copper pipe section and a end cap lapped flat. mounted to a small Cu block for some extra mass would be a cheap way to reduce cost.

Sounds decent enough. With the cost of copper these days though.. even purchasing small pieces is still as much as a 12" aluminum round..

@ sergery - the first pic I posted is the internal piece to the 'ghetto pot' .. it is going to be 'mounted into a aluminum cylinder..so what you see is basically "inside the container". Only machining needed, is to construct that actual part that contacts the cpu. I have a 1" x 1/4"thick aluminum pipe to mount, recessed, into the base..the cylinder will then screw over the entire thing, anchoring to the base section. ..getting the picture now? Sorry for my rudimentary drafting skills.

2nd pic is of the first one-piece pot I had plans for..w/ a solid riser in the center.

..nice job on the gpu pots.. I smell some mean benchies brewing.

This will be a reasonable way to get your feet wet (and hopefully not ur board ). It may be ok for DICE as there is plenty of coolant mass there, but would probably be terrible for LN2. worth a shot though You can always get some copper shot to drop in there to increase the mass artificially.

So is the first pic solid? or hollow? and the gas cylinder will screw into the bottom disk with
A) threads on the sides of disk
B) top cut into the disk
C) disk sits in some container
or D) none of the above, I r smert peoples!?

Yes, the first pic, features the hollow riser....aaaand the answer iiis....*dramatic pause*

B) top cut into the disk

When I saw the top of the gas cylinder..it was too visibly obvious, not to utilize...at least I have not decided against it so far. I thought that if threads were involved, there was sure to be more direct surface contact than if it simply sat on the base itself.

huh. threads cut into the top of the disk... who woulda guessed? ok, make it so!
