4x1GB OR 2x2GB KIT..... HELP ASAP!!!

ok I have 2x1 PC6400 right now.

but won't have the cash for 2x2GB kit for like until next week but I can buy another 2x1gb kit same ram like now.

I don't care that my oc is limited by my ram right now cause 3.6ghz is all i wanted and summer is coming soon so I want my good temps 49c LOAD

Anyways Will a 4x1GB kit stress the mobo???

Or does it not really matter with intel????

Because if it does i'll just wait i suppose and buy a 2x2gb kit for lots more cash.

I have the cash now but my insurance bill came in and i only have 20 bucks in the bank till thursday. but have 150 dollars cash.

right now running 4x1GB kit

2x1GB Corsair XMS2 PC6400
2x1GB GSKILL PC6400

Both at 1030mhz 2.2volts

my pc is using 3.3gbs of it out of 4gbs so i don't care for the 700+ mbs of wated ram

Easier to overclock 2 sticks of ram rather than 4. And theres always room to upgrade if you will ever need more for the future. If you want 2x2Gb get some G.Skill 800MHz or 1000MHz.

yea But i'm stable right now with my same overclock...

just wondering if its gonna stress the North bridge hell of alot like AMD does

Its 25 bucks right now for 2gbs that i can get or 100 for the 2x2gb kit.

I can upgrade to a 2x2gb kit in 2 weeks after this anyways so its not a long term thing.

Depends on the board. My asus P5K could only do 450 FSB when all four DIMM's were populated, but it could do 500 with only 2. Wheras my Gigabyte X38-DQ6 will do 525 FSB with either 4 sticks or 2, it doesn't seem to care.

I see the difference when I oc my mobo with 2x1gig with 4xgig. I have to up the volts higher with 4x1gig. so that I can get a stable oc. So that means more stress on my board.
You are better off buying a 2x2 gig. It will take some stress off your board if you oc.
