[Hexus] "Windows XP - the OS that refuses to pass quietly into the night" - Page 8

My initial install of Vista Ultimate (from the time I put the disk in the drive to when I am logged in to the main profile) was much quicker than XP Pro.
Now getting Vista set the way I like it, well, that is taking longer, but only because I am not familiar with it.

For the love of God, please let it die already!!

Why can't Microsoft create a very "stripped down" version of Vista? This way, Vista can continue to grow along with the low cost PC market.

Err, perhaps it's not such a bad analogy after all....
I haven't even used Vista yet, and this is exactly how I've felt about it since it came out. I thought to myself, "wow, look at all the eye-candy. This OS must need all this eye-candy to fool people into thinking it's a superior OS than XP". Or, even more directly to the point, "wow, look at Microsoft making their new OS extra pretty just so they can make a bunch of money. Sorry, but you lose Microsoft." I refuse to use it when XP Pro SP2 is working beautifully on my system, and I simultaneously read about so many people hating Vista and having problems with it, even on really high end custom builds.

I'll probably upgrade to Vista when Windows 7 comes out. But again, only "probably".

Same here, the only bad thing about Vista is that manufacturers keep putting it on hardware that isn't really capable of running it at a desired level. I do internet tech support and every single day I have to hear stupid ignorant people tell me they hate Vista because it is so slow..... Vista isn't slow, it's your underpowered brand Dell laptop with an old Sempron processor and 512 MB of ram.

Oh look, XP fanboys! Didn't see that coming

I am quite happily sitting here with my rather fast Vista, utilizing all 4GB of RAM and enjoying the eye-candy.

I wish people would try Vista out first before they make judgements!

I wish people would try ANYTHING before they make judgements about it. That goes for any OS or hardware or anything out there.

You know what I'm talking about. The bottom quote in my sig says it all.

Impressive nonetheless that an 8 year old OS (7? 8? whatev) might just keep going...and going...and going...

I sure hope vienna doesn't suck royally.
