Something to keep in mind - the Prelude is very unnecessary unless you plan to use it for gaming.

The Cantante uses USB for its DAC, which I can pretty much assure you will sound better than the Prelude.

*Edit* Ah, Australia, that's why the prices are so high.

But yeah, Audio gets really expensive really fast.

When u meen it uses USB the sound card is irrelavant ?

So no need to even have a sound card ?

But what happens if i wanted to use my Z-2300s.

Yep, USB DAC's make the sound card useless.

For your speakers, you'd have to stick with onboard or buy a solid budget soundcard.

If you plan on gaming however, the Prelude might still be a wise choice. If not, save money and just leave it out.

I sold my sound card since I got the 0404 USB, don't need it. I've been using onboard for my speakers on the very rare occasion that I use them, but I think the line-out would work too.

Hmm well i already have a Extreme Gamer Sound card .

So could i use the Extremer game for the Z-2300s and the Corda Cantate for the headphones ?

Yeah, definitely forget about the prelude then, not worth the upgrade.

And trust me, you probably won't be using the speakers much once you get the headphones. The only time I ever use mine are when I'm watching a movie on my PC with my roommate/friends.
