That's my situation. I payed £170 for this.

I kept thinking maybe there is a catch. Like maybe it is just a server OS or something.

But it says Major OS

Yes please, but will it happen?
32-bit OS... Are we moving forwards at all here? Probably supports direct-x 1.0 and fat file system too.
What a progress.

Thats what I've been telling people on every OCN thread, that its gotta be a corporate OS or some crap. But it says they'll be releasing consumer versions too. ***.

I'm glad they are releasing windows 7 sooner than they said. Vista is a great operating system. Just alot of people cant use it. There was too much crap put into vista that causes the OS to become slow on most computers.

I remember when xp was released ... oh man was it slow. It was rediculous. Most computers would cry for 10 minutes just to boot. Then hardware came out that was more powerful and better suited for it.

However windows 7 will be able to be a product that is more streamlined. From what I've read, 7 should be some what stripped in comparison to the other operating systems. I'm looking forward to it as a gamer.

I would agree in that 64-bit-only is the way to go, but I'd rather have them pick just 32-bit over offering both 32-bit and 64-bit to force companies to make really good drivers for one instead of mediocre-to-:turd: drivers for both.

All I can say is this OS better be ONLY 64-bit.

I mean seriously microsoft, cut the crap. 32-bit is old and creating so many different version just makes it harder to write good drivers. If driver companys could focus on JUST 64-bit and DX10 we'd have mature drivers in no time.

Microsoft doesn't screw over anyone. People screw themselves over when they buy Microsoft.

If you like Vist, there is no reason you cannot keep using it long after windows 7 has been released.

I have no desire to move to Vista from XP/2k, just because Vista is "newer".

Just use what works for you. You must have considered Vista worth while to fork over 200 bucks for it. How will a new OS change that?

What a progress.
Nothing wrong with some backwards compatability.

I still use the FAT file system on floppies, and the occasional RAM drive. For very small volumes it is, in many ways, superior to NTFS.
