Quietestfans without losing performance

Thread Starter
I think the topic pretty much explains it.

Anyways just wondering what the best 120 mm fan is in terms of being quiet without losing performance.

I have a Swiftech MCR320-QP radiator so I need 3 fans to run on this thing. The ones on it right now definently are not quiet enough for me.
So whats the best money can buy in terms of what I am looking for?

Very quiet, designed for radiators -- Noctua P12 1300

I have 4 of them on a PA120.2 and they do a nice job.

First, it will be 38mm deep.

Second, there is a reviewer on one of the forums who's tested over 20 fans. The one he likes the best is San Ace...I think you would need the quietest one or a middle one on a fan controller if noise is an issue. Otherwise, the Panaflos are readily available. The L1s would be quiet at 12v. The M1s ok at 12v, quiet on a fan controller turned down.

I think these are pretty quiet..86cfm Pana...Or these..Pana 68.9CFM ...You can always put them on a controller and only turn them up when you need the extra cooling...

the pana L1s, the 68.9s, on a controller would be quiet. without, they are low. the M1s (86cfm, what I have) hum at 12v and are quiet but not silent at 7v.

You can do more though...after mounting a shoud than the fans, you could cover the outside of the shroud and fans with a sound deadening foam. You could also put a short duct (say 2-4" on the exhaust of the fans and cover that with sound deadnening material. The shoud itself could be duct tape over spacers.

You will still have the pump though.
