RAM Timings expert Wanted

Alright Im trying to get my memory to its absolute best

Im currently running 912mhz mhz at 1:1 FSB DRAM Ratio at these timings: 4-3-3-6 2T.... Now Ive tried 2T before at slightly looser timings at 950mhz but it never worked, i dont think it will now..

See attatchment for what sub-timings I can change, I know nothing about these and not sure which to change first, and how far.... They were set on auto but when i started overclocking, they started to get higher timings so i set them manually to what they were at stock speeds

Im at 2.2V atm, and lowering it once i find a spot thats good - using everest benchmarks to test if results are good or bad

is that single sided or double sides ballastix

and 8GB puts ALOT of stres on chipset so it will need more voltage than normal

keep 2T and dont change it

you want 1:1 see your ram speed depends on your FSB for example a 450 FSB is also 450 MHz ram (DDR2-900)

its not 912 MHz its ddr2-912 and currently at 456 mhz meaning your fsb is 456

most d9GMH does 450 MHz 4-4-4 @ 2.1V (provided your ram is double sided)

another big setting is chipset latency known as static tread value but I dont know what it is on your board

my best suggestion is try 4-4-4 while using the lowest voltage

use memtest to test your ocing

Lol yeh i know i know.... i ran out of room so i did that lol

Ive done testing on FSB settings and right now the speeds im at are giving the highest bandwith against highest stable speed and lower speeds, all at lowest CAS possible
my best suggestion is try 4-4-4 while using the lowest voltage
Well....Im trying to get more performance... I can prob run lower voltage but i want to see the best settings possible
use memtest to test your ocing

you have to test with an app such as sandra to see what gives you the highest bandwidth possible

remember that timings are all based upon clock speed. example if you double clock speed you can double the timings and still have the same latency but double the bandwidth, or cas 2 at 400mhz is the same as cas 4 at 800mhz.

Guys I need help with subtimings lol, I got my CAS set good and the 3 other timings that are most relevant, its the timings after those I want to tweak

No one knows much I don't think. Even very knowledgeable people tend to be a bit dopey when it comes to secondary memory timings.

tRD ("Performance Level" in Memset) is the most important of the lot. Try to set it to 6-7 for 400-450 FSB, 5 or below if you're below 333 FSB.

And you have an Nvidia chipset, so see if you can get Command Rate 1t stable.

Try putting tRAS at CAS + tRCD + 2 (9 in your case). The absolute tightest I would go on tRC is tRP + tRAS.

Your other timings already look pretty optimal. You can probably lower tRRD to 1 or 2, and you might beable to get away with a tWtR of 9, but it won't make much of a difference, and probably is not worthwhile.

It should be safe to up tREF, and should give a very minor performance boost.

The tWR setting of 5 is really bizzare/low. Can you run MemSet and see what it reports for that value? Some motherboard may use the number listed in the bios as a modifier, not an absolute.

You don't really have a whole lot of options on that board.

Not true.

Adjusting secondary timings is required to get the best performance, and sometimes stability, out of a system. Many people have quite extensive knowledge of them, at least from a practical/utilitarian point of view.

Probably just a 'safe' default..but as mentioned..some times mobo's combine a few sub-timings into this setting. Using MemSet, will be a much more accurate way to lower the sub-timings and adjust 'performance level'.

From your pics, the timings look good, while your RAM could be stable at lower timings, only bandwidth testing will determine if they are beneficial changes or not.

*You are going to need to increase the NBv to lower [increase] the 'performance level'..you should be able to hit a 6 or 7, stable with some good NBv at that FSB.

..eager to see some results.
