Problems with the M2N68-LA (Narra) MoBo

Thread Starter
ok so i have a HP Pavilion Media Center TV m8013w Desktop PC i just put it into an Antec 900 case for better cooling. The processor is still heating to 66-79 c when playing games (mainly WoW). Could anyone give me a suggestion on how to help cool the processor?

My second problem. When i was switching the cases i forgot to look where the audio ports where plugged into the MoBo and HP doesnt hep with that. But i did put 2 and 2 together and plug it where i thought it should go but the port aren't responsive and when both (headphone mic) are plugged it it turns the whole system off. SO i just kept the audio ports unplugged from the MoBo.

Can anyone please help me?

HP likes to use that dynamic coolnquiet Make sure its disabled. My HP here has the 4pin cpu connector which massively reduces cpu fan speed in an effort to make silent PC's for marketing purposes. I just plugged the 4 pin connector into a 3 pin connector and it never had a heat issue again. Mind you the cpu fan now sounds like a jet engine so you may just consider replacing the heatsink and fan, but hp uses decent cooling equipment so dont go too far with that.
.. Well, at least they did on my p4 3.2

Oh, I forgot to address your second issue. I dont know if this is the cause, but I also have the antec 900 case (LOVIN IT) and it has dual connectors for front panel audio. One is HD audio and the other is just plain audio. So if you plug the wrong connector in, maybe its causing a short. Try using the OTHER connector (they are both on the same link, about 2-3inches apart). I had an HP motherboard in my 900 for a while and it never gave me the audio issue you speak of, so this is the only thing I can think of. Good thing about newer model computers is that they are all keyed, so you cant say, plug it into the usb port or firewire port, so im guessing that its a simple matter of you used the wrong plug. Try it and let me know, I am really interested to know whats the case here.
