I was thinking of lapping the chip, but to void the warranty im not sure.. right now its at 3303mhz and running 52 and 61 for core2 and core 1 respectively, 55 chip average under full load. Idle is between 40-50. I dont think thats too bad for a room with high ambient temps like this one plus a cheap liquid system that most decent aftermarket fans can put down lol.
Superk, wow 30C is almost 90F. Are you sure it's that hot? No wonder your temps are so high with H2O. Do you have a thermostat locally to confirm this?

Thats what im trying right now, so far I was able to gain 100mhz more but thats about it... Next in line is the ram, to see how high I can get IT before I get instability. I think my 3303 right now is most likely as high as I will see for my cpu, just to work in the ram now. I know from LOTS of people that it can EASILY do 850-950, and Everest even has a 1ghz profile, but I dont like the timings on it, gonna try to do 850-900 on my stock timings.. NCIX forums (site I purchased the ram from) have loads of people achieving this.

So to put it all together I suppose it would be the CPU, not the ram, which is limiting my overclock. That sucks. Ive got a 65nm 4200+ here, whats he potential of that chip? I heard the 65nm designs are wayyyy better on power and heat, and overclocking too.

Yep... Posting a screenie...

its out of focus but the 21 is the relative humidity, and the 29 is the room temp right now. Might I add the windows are all open atm. GOD I need air conditioning lol...

Please disregard the mess inside my tower, im in the process of testing a new OCZ power supply. The old 550w wasnt doing it anymore, rated at 550w yet only capable of 300w.. frikken low-end gadgets :s

This is what it looked like when first build, before first power-on

Not true. The best chips are the newer 1mb L2 cached Windsors. I'd take those over a Brisbane any day. Not only should they clock higher, but they're faster clock for clock due to the L2 cache being larger. The brisbanes might run cooler, but that higher heat doesn't change the fact that Windsor is a better clocker and performer.

Thats what im running is the Windsor 5600+ 1m L2, so if its such a great performer, is it normal to max out at 450mhz o/c? I see some of those Brisbanes doing close to 1ghz...

Comparing top OC speed to stock speed only matters when looking for a bargain. There's a reason that AMD sells Windsors at 3.2ghz stock, but not offering any Brisbanes at that speed. The bottom line is that the new Windsors are the top performing dual core chips AMD has out at the moment. If you simply want the highest % increase over stock speed, get a lower clocked Brisbane and crank it up. If you want the best dual core chip AMD has to offer, keep your Windsor.
