Comprehensive Video Card OC Guide?

Thread Starter
I am a very analytical thinker. And i am looking for maybe a discussion somewhere on here. That discusses what each term or number on the video card does. That way i actually know what i am doing and not just changing numbers.

Does anyone know where i could find this? Or even does this exist?

Whats to not understand?

All you are doing is changing numbers...that is what overclocking is about

Look at what overclocks other people are gettin on your particular card

Download rivatuner + ATItool

Up the core/mem a bit

Then run atitool and scan for artificacts for about 20 mins, then up it again

once your at your final overclock, leave artifact scannin runnin for a good few hours

N dont let your GPU temp go over about 80

Some prefer not to go over 65/70 when overclocked

you may need to increase your fan

When i oc'd my card

My stocks were 600/1800

So i upped it to 650/1900 and scanned, then went up a bit more slowly, keepin an eye on temperatures

Hows that

You may need to unlink your GPU/Shader after a while, some shaders dont like going too high

that seems to be useful but i am looking for more of like the GPU clock, memory, and shader speeds. and it explains what each one does and so forth

@hauntsheep cause i like to know exactly what i am doing because i think overclocking is more then just changing numbers. Back when overclocking was a private thing you actually needed to know what you where doing and not just changing number and hoping it works
