You're 100% right there. AA and AF totally stink for me.

You want a cheap OC'er or a high-end mobo? If you want a no-worries mobo look for a P5B-DLX as they support 45nm's and Q4's..they are also easily mod'd and great for benching runs.

A more expensive option would be the P5E3 as the on-board EPU makes them a tad more stable than the P5K3 sibling.

As for a good water loop, a D5+Fusion/Apogee GTX and a good rad to fit your needs..and your pretty much set. I prefer not to use a res, as they just add bubbles and noise in general with a high flow system.* I am running 5 blocks on a single PA120.3, idling at ~27-30c and load with Orthos at ~58c for all four cores.

The P5Bs work for E8400, but you need the latest BIOS. Won't work with the old ones.I know I tried. BIOS 1226 works though.

P5B-DLX's will support any 45nm cpu currently, with the 1226 BIOS or later.

*Tested max stable FSB with my e6700 is ~515mhz FSB.. using my P5B-DLX, and it runs my Q6600 at ~420*8. Overall great mobo's and outstanding for a good bench setup for the occasional suicide run.

P5B-DLX isn't a SLI mobo though. I own 2 8800gtx.
