I haven't been that impressed with my crackberry... In fact... I would say it's closer to a weedberry. There are no good browsers to run on it and it lags ALOT.

i love my iphone, wouldnt trade it for any other. the only thing about it i hate is the fact that there is stuff you cant do (i.e ringtones / file browsing etc) because apple is so damn controlling!

You can make any ringtone you want for free. Legally. just Google for some guides.
You can also file browse, but that requires some jailbreaking.

I had a BlackBerry Pearl -- hated it. Switched to an iPhone and love it.

iPhone FTW.

There be lots of better apps for Windows Mobile devices atm.
I play Monkeys Island 3 (CMI) @ 320x240 on my HTC Touch.

Programming for Windows Mobile is way easier than for iPhone (because of .Net and PC like system architecture).
So every cool App will also come to WM Smartphones.
Even Market shares make no point to develop for iPhone only.

IPhone got some great advertisement and a big piece of hype - check out the hole market before you let Apple catch you...

I believe that the simplicity of the programing depends on the programmer.

I agree it should come to both ends but, there are people who will code for one but not the other and there will be people who port this program to the side that is missing.

In the end both will end up getting the same program in different aspects, to take advantage of each unquie phone. The only advantage I really see thus far coding for the iPhone will be more mass spread since a program made for a iPhone can easily be sent to another iPhone and guaranteed to be working while WM will have to port said program depending on the phone.

EX: Lets say I have a game that takes advantage of the accelerometer, and a friend who also has a iPhone and wants this game. I simply say its right here. (he downloads it and installs it and wala, it works.)

While if someone with a WM phone will see that their friend is playing a game and they also want the same game, and they both have WM. But its different phones so all special capabilities will be disabled to take advantage of the technology of that phone. So though they may be able to play it, it simply wont be nearly as nice.

True, but just because the marketing team for the iPhone is doing well at its job does not mean that the iPhone isn't worth while piece of equipment.

Thats by far the most neutral post on iPhone vs other Smartphones I ever read ;o)

I won't comment any of your lines (as I could, esp. on programming).
Hopefully lots of people read it and get more informations on the mobile market before posting coloured comments....
