Q6600: Voltage reqs for various OCs?

Thread Starter
I know, I know... everyone is going to say that it varies from chip to chip...
But I was just curious as to what the general voltage range needed is for these various OCs:
3.0GHz
3.2GHz
3.4GHz
3.6GHz
3.8GHz
4.0GHz (if anyone can even push this)

I have noticed when OC'ing my chip. That stock volts of 1.2v seems to hold the chip through 3.6

At 3.8ghz i had to raise mine to like i think it was 1.28v

This chip is a beast

If that is true, then that is a monster chip you have there. My chip takes about 1.3250v to get to 3.6ghz, and that is quite low in comparison to what I've seen.

Voltages chips take to reach a certain point really are completely random. It varies depending on week, batch number, the type of silicon used, stepping, VID, your motherboard, lots of things.

i barely have to bump up voltages to get it to boot into windows but stable i would raise it even more.

I was only looking at getting it to 3.4 so after that i stopped experimenting anything above that.

Woooaaah... I'm gonna need to see a SS of a few hours of Prime95 blend to believe that one

I had to bump my vcore to 1.5250 in bios to get it to run stable at 3.3 on my 680i LT SLI mobo. This board hates the quad i think.

CPU vcore 100% usage vdroop's to 1.45. CPU temps top at 62c so i'm happy. I might try lowering vcore one tick, put 2 ticks down (1.5) it wouldn't boot to windows, so I'm not holding out hope.

Good luck!

PS. Damn I wish I could get to 3.6 with less than 1.3 volts!!!!!

My VID is 1.2875V. I only need 1.200V for 3.0GHz, and need around 1.400V for 3.6GHz(still playing with it a little).

My chip will do 3.2 at 1.34 vcore. And it took 1.41 for 3.6. I have a G0 too.

My VID is only 1.20v and I can't even do 3.6GHz at 1.28v. That seems a little low.
