Could that be correct? I was looking at cpuz and core temp (logfile) and it said I was at 333 * 6 instead of 9 for the entire time. I'm on vista 64.

Why don't you just turn off Speedstep in BIOS? I don't think anyone here actually uses it. It might make sense for laptops, but isn't really needed for desktops.

I use it and it works quite well

When I game or fold or do video/dvd conversions my cpu is at 3.2 ghz and working hard, when its idle (surfing and whatnot) its at 2.4 ghz

Lower temps and less stress

I like the idea of it, why not save a few bucks when I'm away, but I guess I should have mentioned that looking at my performance tab of the task manager, none of the cores spike super high which is probably why it doesn't up the multiplier. Just wondering if that was standard or not, I'm getting pretty decent performance from the game, I was just wondering if my reporting tools were malfunctioning.

Just an update, I installed the full version with latest patch and now, not only does it run a hell of a lot better, it also uses all 4 cores at x9 (go figure).

unless your on a laptop, I don't think it is worth the savings of having it. but then again, I dont have any heat issues either.
