Halp!

Thread Starter
I just recently purchased my new system in the signature. When trying to install Windows XP 32 or Vista 64 it goes only so far and I get differing error messages, but the one common thing is a message that reads: IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL_TO. I tried all of the following: removing a hard drive, removing a video card, switching video cards, moving video cards to different PCI-E slots, reformatting hard drive, installing old video card. Nothing, absolutely nothing of the above-mentioned helped. I'm begging j00, halp!

Try it with just 1 or 2 sticks of RAM.

Have you tried another CD-rom drive?

I had the same type of problem, so I swapped the drive and all worked fine. Not saying this is your problem but its worth alook.

Is the BIOS at stock? Sounds like something is unstable.

Go into the BIOS and set everything to default. What it might be is the RAM voltages, it may be set @ 1.8 and they may need 2.0+

If all that fails, try a different XP Source disc, make sure the system isnt overheating, disable any OC'ing you may have done, then if all that fails try different hardware, starting with power supply and motherboard. Memory is a common culprit but im assuming that you will have at least tried that by the time you read my post

Thank you all very much! + Rep all around! Here's what the issue was: I first took out 2 gigs of ram and tried the same XP disc and it worked. So the error msg must have been from too much memory. After I installed XP I jumped right into Ultimate 64. There was a whole host of problems that ensued after that, but they were all minor driver conflicts that were easily solved. Now my Nemesis is finally to were it should be! Again, thanks much!

Alright... Well... I was running everything on 2 gigs of memory and got everything stable. I finally decided to install the other two sticks and then Pandora's Box opened. I tried to boot in Ultimate 64 normally, BSOD, "System_Service_Exception". Booted into safe mode, everything was fine recognized all 4 gigs of memory and was running stable. Thinking the Vista finally got the metaphorical stick out of it's ass, I tried to boot into Vista normally and still the same error. Tried safe mode again and this time it gave me a BSOD with the same error. Tried to "boot with last known good configuration" and wouldn't even load vista. Out of ideas, I think it might be either a bad stick (which doesn't makes sense given the fact that it was fine on my last system) or a bad motherboard slot. Please help me!
