The Corsair VX 450 and VX550 are great PSU's. So is the Antec earthwatts 500W which is selling for $54 and free shipping on buy.com. The VX550 is a good starting point for SLI or Crossfire, but the VX450 and the earthwatts 500W are plenty for a single card like the 8800GT.

Personally I'd get the Antec, save $15 and not worry about the MIR. But the VX550 will future proof you more, as it has more power, amps, and an extra 6+2 pin connector.

Just a little more info:
VX450 - made by Seasonic, 5yr warranty, 80plus, single rail, 33A
earthwatts 500W - made by Seasonic, 3yr warranty, 80plus, dual rail, 17A on each rail
VX550 - made by Channel Well Technology, 5yr warranty, 80plus, single rail, 41A

Earthwatts is most likely single rail since:
1) It is made by Seasonic.
2) It has the same design as the VX450.

Oh, single vs multi rals doesn't matter.
