Unless you are having trouble with your Mobo why flash? You may have a very good resason, but why take the risk - maybe its not a big deal for you, but sometimes you gotta ask does the benefit outweigh the risk.......

BTW I flashed my ASUS using a floppy and have zero trouble - yes I thought I needed to at the time.

This is why I want to flash it.

So either this is going to be harder than I thought, or it'll never happen and I'll either get a new mobo to accommodate the e8400 that I want, or I'll just get the e6850 and call it a day.
And as I stated earlier, I don't have a floppy or a flash drive at this time, although I wish I did.

You know you can pick up a 1-2gig thumb drive for $10 from any computer store.

Oh, I already have the iso. I used Nero 7 Express Essentials to burn it. I'll have to try Active ISO Burner.

I just flashed the BIOS! Thank you, Reberto! Now I can see why Nero 7 Express Essentials didn't work: it didn't extract the 2 files in the ISO and burn them. It merely burned the ISO to the disc, where Active ISO Burner knew to extract, and then burn.

I don't see any differences in the BIOS except for a fun warning message in the area where I can change voltages. It's basically warning people to be careful.

Anyway, thanks again! I truly appreciate this!
