Ordering a 9850BE... Need the best mobo available ;)

Hey guys! I'm ordering a 9850 BE tomorrow (monday) but before i can order it i need a sexy 790FX mobo to go with it Do not mind the little nvidia card as it will be soon replaced with a 3870 X2 (spider platform woohoo).

Anyways, which mobo do you suggest? To my knowledge the best mobos are ASUS (??) in particular the deluxe models. Are DFIs as good overclockers?

Keep in mind i like the SATA configuration of the ASUS and DFI mobos. Sticking to the side of the mobo not the top (easier cable management hehe). I will consider any recommendations though

P.S I noticed that the GB DQ6 mobo is the most expensive one. Is it really better than the ASUS Deluxe or the DFI M2R?

Not sure which would be the best, but I do like Asus MB's.

I'm running a M3A32-MVP and its great. Overclocks nicely, very forgiving when I get a little crazy on overclocks. It comes with 4 PCI-e slots and a very nice heat pipe setup for the memory that seems to work well.

I ordered my 9850 BE Phenom Friday and cant wait to throw in my sig rig.

NOT to sound like a Intel FanBoy but you would get much better performance with a Q6600 and probably a higher overclock. even if you get a Phenom to 3.0GHz in most cases that is still only as fast as a 2.8GHz intel quad and even less for the 45nm Quads.

So better performance and you save 10$. The only people that should buy a Phenom or any of AMDs current processors for that matter are people that are stuck with AMD socket motherboards and don't have the $$$$ to do a CPU and Motherboard upgrade.

Or the fanboys that just like to suffer with less performance because of the brand.

I know the q6600 is better, but i want a full spider setup. Dunno why, but i got it in my head that all parts from same manufucturer will be better than mix and match

Besides I read back in the 9X00 reviews that clock for clock they provided similar perfromance with the Qs but only lacked in OCing. The BE shows signs it can OC around 3.3 on water so its gonna be nice to have a test bench with a Phenom (i already have a Q6600 down on my dads pc which is core speed he doesnt like OCing) so im gonna run some Autocad and 3dmark renderings aswell see which is actually better

Try pressing ctrl and F1 together when in bios. That may unlock the options your looking for.

Good luck!

3.3GHz on water you say Q6600 can do 3.6GHz with good air cooling. 3.3GHz is a little low to need to break out the water cooling.

Back when people were posting review with the "bugged" Phenoms that were only getting 2.6GHz there were stock 2.4GHz Q6600 still beating them in a lot of test.

I don't think that a simple bug fix can make up for the 200MHz difference in performance that a lot of thows tests were showing.

And all the parts being AMD based, Or Intel based will not help performance, It will just mean you have a hole bunch of under performing parts all together. Putting a Pentium 4 in a Intel board instead of a Nvidia based board is not going to change the performance of the CPU clock for clock just because the brands match. You may get a higher FSB for a Intel chipset vs a Nvidia one but of your CPU doesn't OC well it doesn't matter.

Why is it anytime someone posts anything about AMD we have to read about Intel this and Intel that... Is it like a AMD radar? Do they feel they have to spread the word?

We don't care!!!!
