Honestly, go with the 9800GTX, ONLY because you plan on going tri sli. The 9800GTX was MADE for tri sli and will perform better than the 8800GTX in tri sli. Plus I have been reading tons of reviews on the 9800GTX, and its either similiar or better than the 8800GTX and the 9GTX has a much better price. Also, it is a cooler and quieter card.

What amazes me is that everybody will always say that at high resolutions above 1920x1200 more mem and higher bus frequency will be king, but I bet you that 99.9% of all those people don't have a 30" screen and will most likely not have one for quite a while.

If you have the extra money, get the 9800GTX. It has high bin chips and OCs like you would not believe. It is the better card and will outperform a 8800GTX at pretty much anything in the real world, especially OCd.

dead even poll again, 44:44

remember people, the ONLY game both card cannot max is Crysis, and 8800GTX pulls ahead in Crysis.

all other games will have 60+ FPS, so we shall enable high level AA/AF to lavish our eyes. and 8800GTX also wins when high level AA/AF is enabled.

Both show that in most cases the 8800GTX is inferior. The only thing better is the 8800Ultra really, but good luck finding one on the cheap.

You may also notice that pretty much only the 8800GTX owners are defending it like mad.
