BSOD after 25 minutes of prime 95... Now I set the (G)MCH OverVoltageControl back to +.2 and I put the CPU voltage control down to 1.39. Trying prime 95 again...

Prime95 ran for 3 hours now fine until the computer restarted. Does prime95 have any logs where I can check what the problem was? Also, should I lower the cpu voltage control one more notch?
Thanks

usually when you have errors with prime, its because you need more vcore. if you error or the computer restarts, then bump up the vcore one notch and try again. as long as your temps are ok, keep bumping until your stable.

Also, I just realized that prime95 was on low priority. I changed it to high. Should I keep it at high or change back to low?

Thanks alot everyone for your help... I put the CPU vcore to 3 notches above 1.4 and ran prime95 for 10 hours without any problems. It looks like I am stable @ 3.6ghz. I will monitor my temps and maybe go for 3.825ghz in a few days.
Thanks!

Hey, I followed these following instructions, everything worked great for me but I had to raise the cpu vcore to 3 ticks above 1.4. I am now running stable at 3.6ghz with low temperatures.

Orginally posted by gibsonnova74:
To get 3.6GHz with your Q6600 assuming the CPU can handle 3.6GHz at 1.5v or less (this OC is very doable with these settings). These arent difinitive, it is all based on the CPU, but these settings are solid for the board itself and should get you started.

Advanced BIOS Features
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) Disable
CPU Thermal Monitor 2(TM2) Disable
CPU EIST Function (Note) Disable

MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
CPU Host Clock Control Enabled
x CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) 400
PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) 100
System Memory Multiplier (SPD) 800 (with your FSB at 400, it will 1:1)

System Voltage Control
DDR2 OverVoltage Control: +.03v (default is 1.8v)
PCI-E OverVoltage Control [Normal]
FSB OverVoltage Control +0.2v
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control +0.2v (This is your northbridge voltage, might need +0.3 when running over 400 FSB with quad)
CPU Voltage Control 1.40v - 1.5v (it might need less then 1.40v, or it might need a bit more... only testing will tell)

Depending on what bios you have, you might have to press [CTRL+F1] in the main bios menu to access advanced memory timing options.
