Cant find SATA drivers for Barracuda 7200.10

Thread Starter
I wanted to install Vista last night, but i couldnt find the drivers for the sata drives. I look on the motherboard drivers CD. I borwsed it and used the scan from windows CD to auto detect.

I havent changed anyting in the BIOS. It is picked up by the system. So it knows its there. So should i download the drivers onto a usb device, if so where will i get it ? Intel site?

If not what should i change ??

When you install vista theres an option for installing drivers near the begining.Copy them to disc ,I think that is what it asks for.

Basically you need the drivers for RAID not the drives themselves! Look on the motherboard disk in the raid folder and it should have something that says "make disk". Hope that helps

your hard drive shouldn't need drivers unless you are refering to the raid drivers at least as far as I have seen.

whats going on here with your situation? are you trying to raid them or has the raid already been setup. are you trying to install vista?

if you are trying to just get the raid drivers depending on how the disk is setup for the motherboard it might allow you to make disk if you boot from the CD itself ( I at least know that is how asus likes to do it). just make sure your bios is set to boot from CD before your hard drive, don't put a floppy in yet and try to boot off your mobo CD.
if it sees it and it is bootable it should tell you when to put the floppy in.

I havent set up anyting. i connected the HD to the mobo. booting up from the dvd drive.
It all runs well, i get past the serial nr input for vista. when i need to choose a drive to instal it. it asks for the drivers. i cant find it on the CD's

What is the procedure then. I dont believe i neede the drivers but that is what it is asking for ?

Should raid be set up in bios before boot up. Cause both drives are detected on ht ebios screen and Vista screen ??

if its possible can u give me a step by step guide to set it up ??
