Yeah you definatly dont want to get people to try and oc there stuff with out pointing them in the right direction first as far as getting some info.

I mean if you didnt know any better and decided to oc like some poeple do at XS and run your 8400 at 4.6ghz and 1.56vcore and leave it like that for 24/7 your gonna be getting a new cpu pretty fast.If people arent into ocing and just wanna play some games and have fun then so be it leave them be.

Oh and as far as someone saying something about using IE, so whats the matter with that. IE does just fine and I still hear about issues with FF, Ive used both and I use IE now. Its personal preference.

Well, from what I've seen, IE seems to be for Normal Consumers, whereas Firefox is what you get when you know better.

IE didn't have tabs until Firefox became very popular. And for me, IE7 still isn't as good as Firefox. There are many things Firefox has over IE. But since this isn't a thread for this topic, I'll just leave it at that. I will add here that I've compared IE7 to Firefox. I gave IE7 a very honest shot, and I found that Firefox was more user-friendly, which was just one of the many ways it beats IE7, and one of the many ways it makes IE7 look like a "normal consumer" browser. Besides, it comes with every copy of Windows. I think that's enough right there for it to be the normal consumer's browser.

But anyway, I don't want to de-rail this thread, even though the train is already tipping over on the bend.

Im back on teh fight of the non overclockers! more madness!

Some person [again from the CoH Boards] wants to buy a dell computer and is asking for advice, it has an E8400

So i said...

Quote:
An E8400 on a Dell platform that you wouldnt be able to overclock?

That would just be stupid =)

Not worth it

Self build is the future, computers are high tech lego mate
And to my horror, some pathetic fool of a human posted after me... [With quoting me text]

Quote:
Please never post here again, your neither helpful nor particular useful

Zomg!

Its like teh most extreme anti overclocker ever, so i gave a nice speech on how the majority of people who are against overclocking are generally ignorant people and need to educate themselves on the subject of overclocking before firing blind statements into the air without knowing what they are talkin about

The E8400 Should be banned from running @ stock >.>

This is not a crime

Its an illness

Chill man, if they are not cpu bounded then there is not much point going from 3.0G to 4.0G, might as well save on the electricity bills. I kept my 1.66G laptop at 1G constantly and wish I could undervolt it. I don't like the buzzing fan, nor do I want toasted gonads. I think the whole point of overclocking is to get your hardware to perform the way you want it to.

And you can overclock a Dell

While some of the things you brought over from the other forum are unbearable to read, all you proabably succeeded in doing is pissing people off over there. I would have corrected a couple mistakes and then dropped a shameless plug to OCN!

Ok this one is just funny

Quote:
but whenever a PC is returned to a retailers like Dell for repair with part of the processor's heatsink melted onto the system board, water damage all over the inside of the case, the chassis fan blown out due to it being run at too high a voltage, etc. it doesn't take a particularly high level support tech to work out what the real problem was.
He thinks overclocking is just about putting more voltages throughout the entire computer...lol

It isn't?

I get all my results by using a 1200watt Meanwell 24V PSU...those 12 extra volts are what make my PC so fast
